Efficient Special Transport: J.S. Logistics Ensures Fast Shipment of Steel Cables to Antwerp
Precision and Speed in Overseas Logistics
At the end of January 2025, the experts from J.S. Logistics’ overseas department took on a demanding special transport assignment in Malaysia. Four large reels of steel cables, each weighing 10.5 tons, had to be transported at short notice from the customer’s plant in Pasir Gudang to Singapore to ensure the fastest possible shipment to Antwerp.
Specialized Transport with Heavy-Duty Truck and Low-Bed Trailer
The size and weight of the cargo required the use of a low-bed heavy-duty truck to ensure safe and efficient transportation. The cargo was secured in accordance with the highest safety standards at the KW Neptune plant in Pasir Gudang. Thanks to the precise coordination of the J.S. Logistics team, the loading was completed in the morning, allowing the reels to be stored in J.S. Logistics’ customer warehouse, 46 miles away, on the same day.
Route Optimization for Maximum Efficiency
The transport route via Singapore was chosen to enable direct shipment to Antwerp in just 42 days without transshipment. This route offered significant advantages over the original connection from Pasir Gudang to Antwerp, which would have required two feeder connections and taken approximately 60 days. The selected route also bypassed the Suez Canal, minimizing potential delays.
Maximum Efficiency Through Strategic Transport Planning
The successful execution of this special transport once again demonstrates J.S. Logistics’ flexibility and expertise in international heavy-load logistics. Thanks to in-depth knowledge and targeted route optimization, both transport time and costs were reduced while maximizing the chances of a swift loading process using a 40’ Open Top Container (OToog).
